Conversely, if the page includes a documented return-cost comparison but the snippet never signals it, presentation may be the nearer cause. Preserve both hypotheses until query-page and content evidence distinguish them.

Document the journey gap and remedy owner
Use a table with query cluster, presumed uncertainty, current result pattern, page promise, answer location, evidence missing, next question, hypothesis, test, owner, and review date. Broder's taxonomy can label broad task types, while newer CHI research challenges rigid single-query categories in AI-era search. Include the alternative interpretation that best fits the same words. A diagnosis improves when it makes a plausible rival visible, not when it produces the most detailed persona.
